On 27.12.2018 UWE-4 launched from the spaceport Wostotschny into orbit. The experimental satellite, which was developed and realised by the University of Würzburg, is the first in the pico satellite class to use an electric drive to control its orbit. Also on board: the ERNI MicroCon connector. As the first ERNI product in space, the MicroCon takes over the entire power and signal distribution to the seven subsystems and six external panels of UWE-4, thus playing a central role in the satellite. The objectives of the one-year mission are to test and characterize the electric drive and to train the participating students. ERNI wishes the University of Würzburg every success for the further course of the project.
