ERNI Introduces 2.0mm iBridge Ultra Cable Connector System

05.10.2016

Singapore, Oct 5, 2016 - Introducing the new iBridge Ultra female cable connectors, contact housing retention force of 50N minimum per contact for AWG 22 cable could be achieved. The automotive industry has high demands for reliable connectors. The new iBridge Ultra connectors fulfill the industry needs by meeting the contact housing retention force requirement of automotive connectors.

The new reinforced female cable connectors are an enhancement of the 2.0mm pitch iBridge single-row cable connector system, now available with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 pins. The improved contact housing retention force is mainly based on the redesign of female cable connector with two piece structure - base housing and retainer.

The new iBridge Ultra variants could prevent incomplete crimp contact insertion, as well as wrong orientation of the inserted crimp contact. Besides, there will be interference between the female and male connector if the retainer is not at the full staged position after insertion of the crimp contact. For pin count of 10 pins and above, a box feature is added to strengthen the retainer.

The new iBridge Ultra female cable connectors are mating compatible with the standard iBridge male PCB connectors. This means layout changes are not needed on existing PCB designs.
